These Terms of Service govern your use of Token-Calculator.net, including the free browser-based token calculator and the paid Token-Calculator.net Token API. By using the website or API, you agree to these terms.

1. Services

Token-Calculator.net provides browser tools for token counting, LLM cost estimation, memory planning, token speed simulation, and tokenization guidance. The public browser calculator is free to use. The paid Token API provides token, character, and word count responses for text submitted by your application.

2. Paid Token API Plans

Token API access is available as a Monthly Plan for $1.99 per month or a Yearly Plan for $9.99 per year. Subscriptions are processed through Creem and renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing period. API access requires an active subscription and a valid API key.

3. Accounts and API Keys

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and API keys. API keys should be used only from trusted server-side environments and should not be embedded in public client-side code. We may suspend or revoke access for abuse, credential sharing, excessive automated traffic, or attempts to bypass access controls.

4. Acceptable Use

You may not use the website or API to attack, overload, scrape private areas of, reverse engineer, or disrupt Token-Calculator.net or its service providers. You may not use the service in a way that violates applicable law or infringes the rights of others.

5. Data Processing

Browser calculator input is processed locally in your browser. API requests are processed by Token-Calculator.net to return count metrics. We do not store submitted API text, but we may store usage metrics such as token count, character count, endpoint, API key identifier, and request time for account, support, and subscription reporting.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

You may cancel a subscription before the next renewal from your account or by contacting support. Unless required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable once API access has been provided for the billing period. If you believe there was a billing error, contact support and we will review it.

7. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the website or API when needed for maintenance, security, product changes, or legal compliance.

8. Disclaimer

Token counts and cost estimates are provided for planning purposes. Actual model behavior, provider pricing, tokenization, and billing may vary. Always verify production billing decisions against the official provider documentation for the model you use.
